VRE4EIC Evaluation Workshop @CRIS2018
The VRE4EIC team is pleased and cheerful to meet you during a workshop on “Supporting FAIRness with eVRE, a solution for easier Collaboration within Research Communities”. This special event about FAIRness of Research Information will be held during CRIS2018
CRIS2018, 14th International Conference on Current Research Information Systems, is organised by euroCRIS in cooperation with Umeå University, Sweden.
Nowadays, the world is becoming more and more digital, with an exponential growth of data, including research data. The FAIR principles could help this data being useful for research communities, by making them Findable, Accessible, Interoperable and Re-usable.
The systems and services being developed in the frame of the VRE4EIC project are meant to promote the collaboration of researchers across scientific domains, to support open science through the provision of discovery services for research data, and to support a community of developers devoted to support such systems, called Virtual Research Environments (VRE).
The workshop aims to present and discuss the way the concept of e-VRE (enhanced VRE), designed by the VRE4EIC project, deals with the notions of FAIRness, by allowing researchers to discover data across several domains. This data comes from the Research Infrastructures, and is described using different standards. The e-VRE allows users to reuse the data by combining them in workflows for example.
The workshop will consist of 1.5 hours of presentations, demonstrations, tests of a prototype and discussions.
Two topics will be addressed : the architecture design of the e-VRE, and the prototype, that participants will be asked to practice and give feedback from.
The expected audience is focused on technical (developers, CRIS solutions providers) as well as functional (researchers, data providers) people.
Note : to participate the workshop, registration to the conference is needed. If you are interested in attending, please register as soon as possible: CRIS2018 registration
